Hi everyone! It has been some time since I’ve put out a new post. Diann has been doing the writing lately and doing a great job! I plan to start contributing to the site again in the next year on a more regular basis. But at this point I want to praise God for the reach we have had around the world. I never thought we would have anyone from another country, nor the numbers of people who have come to the site and the number of pages they have viewed.
As of mid-November, we have had just shy of 3,000 people come to CulitvatingFaith.org. These people have viewed almost 6,700 pages! The most amazing thing God has done is have people from 43 different countries come to our site. From Ecuador to Japan, the Netherlands to South Africa, and New Zealand to Ireland. From every continent except Antarctica (if you know any researchers down there have them visit our site, LOL).
So, you may ask why I’m emphasizing Spain. Spain is one of our 43 countries, but it is also one of the places of my origins. While on my mother’s side, my ancestors came to the new world in the 1630s. On my father’s side, he came to this country around 1943. His mother, my grandmother, was born in the Dominican Republic. When my great-grandparents emigrated from Spain in 1900, great-grandmother Francisca was with child. She was having trouble, so the ship stopped in the Dominican Republic, where my grandmother Josephine was then born. They then made their way to Puerto Rico. Some years later, she met Felipe Rivera, who was a native Puerto Rican and Spanish, and were married in 1922. They moved back and forth between NY and Puerto Rico for a number of years. All my uncles and my aunt were born in NY with my father being the only one being born in Puerto Rico. They moved to NY for the last time in 1943. My dad and mom met as teenagers, got married, his family moved to California and the rest is, as they say, history.
Thus, when we got a visitor to our site from Spain, I was over the moon. I’ve never been there. My son went there with some friends, one of whom was from Spain, after graduating from Missouri S & T. There is also a couple who serve as missionaries in Spain for the SBC that our church supports. We pray for them as they share the gospel and the love of God in that wonderful country.
Yet Spain is but one of the countries God has blessed us with having a part in sharing His love and the message of His love, grace, mercy and forgiveness through His Son Jesus Christ. Please keep praying for us and all the countries that God has used us to reach with His word. Pray that we will remain faithful to this call to serve Him.
